Memaid Man is SpongeBob's hugest hero and an actor. His crime-fighting sidekick is Barnacle Boy. He is slightly older than Barnacle Boy, and is considered to be senile. Wears slippers wherever he goes.

Mermaid Man (along with Barnacle Boy) are considered to be recurring characters in the main series and the majority of fanon spin-offs, but has been given primary roles in shows such as IJLSA Adventures, The Mermaid Man Show, and The Adventures of Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy. He was originally voiced by the late Ernest Borgnine 'til his tragic death on Sunday, July 8, 2012, but now voiced by Joe Whyte, who voiced him in the video game series.
