The Rotten Egg is the fifth episode of SpongeBob: A New Generation. In this episode, SpongeBob, the Angry Birds, and the Rugrats have escaped the rug, but then the Rugrats had to go back to their family so it comes down to SpongeBob and the birds. Now they have found a rotten egg which may aid them in defeating Queen Pig. The previous episode was "Rug" Rats, and the next will be King Pig.

- SpongeBob: I miss those birds. Whadda you think Bubble Buddy?
- Bubble Buddy: Well, I just came to town and the last time I saw you was 4 years ago when you took care of my son so, how should I know?
- SpongeBob: Good point. (A loud swirling sound is heard)
- King Pig: Hahahahahaahahaahahaahahaahaaaahahaahahahaaahahahaahahahhhahahahaahahaha!
- SpongeBob: Whathe-

- SpongeBob: Why do you keep saying "hyphen, hyphen, hyphen"?
- King Pig: Oh man. King Pig!
